Tis The Season For Taiwan For New Year’s Eve

Taipei 101, the world’s second tallest skyscraper, is known around the world for its annual spectacular New Year fireworks. In 2011, the fireworks gained worldwide recognition when international explosive expert and controversial modern artist Cai Guo-Qiang took the night sky as his open canvas to celebrate ROC’s (Taiwan) centennial.
And to mark the beginning of the 101st year in 2012, Taipei 101 is ready for another over-the-top centurial firework display for the world to admire in complete awe.
Sun Moon Lake, the largest lake in Taiwan and one of the most beautiful and famous tour sites in Asia, plans to celebrate and ring in the New Year with a series of holiday concerts by the lake surrounded by layers and layers of mountains and countless mountain peaks.
With top performers from Taiwan and Asia scheduled to perform, visitors from around the world will enjoy the natural beauty and calmness of the turquoise lake complimented by the delightful sound of nature and music.
Another top destination in Taiwan known for its unparalleled natural beauties and pristine forests inhabited by colorful aboriginal tribes is Alishan. The famous mountain resort plans to create an all day New Year’s Eve celebration filled with live concerts and aboriginal performances at the front of the Forest Recreation Area with a relaxed and romantic atmosphere under the evening stars. Visitors will then welcome the dawn of the New Year’s Day by watching the most magnificent sunrise view in the world.
