Grace Valerie :: Shares her Idol Dreams
With the sea of pop divas thinning; except for the likes of Rihanna and teeny-bopper Carly Rae Jepsen still buzzing about, most of the most notable ladies in popular music are turning to reality competition perhaps to save their careers. Look at what "American Idol" did for Jennifer Lopez (fingers crossed Mariah). The net is wide open for a new generation to swoop in and steal the seat once held by Britney and Christina.
A likely candidate is Grace Valerie who happens to have an advantage over the current emerging trend. She’s the protégé of "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson. Before warming the seat on television’s most watched talent search, Jackson was always a musician. He’s worked with some of the industry’s biggest talents including Carlos Santana and modern-day pop icons Mariah Carey and Madonna. Now he’s molding the future of tomorrow’s pop idols.
"He’s a wonderful musician," Valerie raves about her Idol mentor and manager, "he’s really great to work with." Jackson is working with the Russian beauty fast-tracking her place on the popular music charts. Her debut single "When the Lights Go Down" puts Valerie upfront and center especially in the sexy video. She blushingly admits, "It’s a little outside of my comfort level. I didn’t expect that my first song would be so sexy...but it’s very cool."
The artist is very excited about bringing her extremely club-friendly music out and onto the dance floor. "I love to have a good time and it’s important for me to keep it real." Also, It doesn’t go unnoticed that she’s become a very important part of the Randy Jackson club. "I am very lucky...and ready to get my music out there."
Grace Valerie is performing as part of the line-up of C89.5 Summer Listener Appreciation Party, Saturday, August 25 at Neighbours Nightclub in Seattle, Washington. Her single "When the Lights Go Down" is currently available for digital download on iTunes and includes some very hot remixes. Neighbours Nightclub is located at 1509 Broadway, Seattle.
