Meet Valentine Guy Philip Fusco
The cheeky (no pun intended) internet campaigns by Andrew Christian push the envelope of just how far an underwear company can go in sexiness. They’re playful, suggestive and, well, so hot they’d never be approved for a Super Bowl ad.
Which is too bad because if Philip Fusco’s recent shoot for Christian went prime time, his pics would trend at the speed of sound. Already the handsome Italian (from Long Island) has caught the eye of fashion bloggers and hottie-oriented websites. Maybe he’ll turn up on a massive billboard in Times Square at some future date.
And maybe, if you’re in Boston and very lucky, he’ll be your valentine this Thursday night at Club Cafe where he’ll be making a personal appearance. Hey, you can always dream...
The 23-year old has (according to his Facebook page) "graced the covers of five publications (and counting), numerous underwear campaigns and magazine spreads and is one of the blogging community’s most talked about male model. He is also the lead writer and host of his lifestyle and fitness blog, PhilCity and his very own YouTube Channel."

EDGE caught up with Philip earlier this week to talk about his career:
EDGE: You got your first modeling gig in 2007. How did that come about?
Philip Fusco: It was because of Myspace when I was 17 years old. One company contacted me through Myspace because of my pictures. I was even very skeptical about it because I was 17, but I responded to the message. I actually went with my father to meet the agency and the meeting turned out well and the company, legit.
EDGE: What was it like getting your first cover?
Philip Fusco: It was one of the most exciting things ever.. I think I jumped when I heard about it.
EDGE: How did the Andrew Christian photos come about?
Philip Fusco: I went to California for some events because of my 2013 calendar and things just fell into play . Andrew Christian is an amazing company.
EDGE: What has that been like?
Philip Fusco: It had been great and really fun, everyone was so nice. I really enjoyed all the pictures that came from Andrew Christian. Everyone there is so talented and passionate about what they do.
EDGE: What do you think of the way Christian pushes the envelope with his campaigns?
Philip Fusco: I think he has a "niche" and he works with that and does very well. So yes, I think it is a great Idea, More power to him and his company for coming up with an edgy, but powerful and highly effective campaign.
EDGE: What’s the most stressful aspect of being a model?
Philip Fusco: It would be the constant packing and unpacking when traveling for a job.
EDGE: What do you like most about it?
Philip Fusco: Definitely traveling even though it is the most stressful aspect. I know it’s an irony! Lol.
EDGE: Have you any fashion or modeling horror stories to speak of?
Philip Fusco: No, I don’t have any bad stories. Thank goodness! I enjoyed everyone I have worked with and worked for in my years of modeling.
EDGE: What has been your favorite experience so far?
Philip Fusco: My favorite experience is the traveling to different places. I especially love California and LA when doing modeling work.
EDGE: You’re also a writer for your fitness blog. Have you always been a writer?
Philip Fusco: No, I haven’t always been a writer. Lately, though, I have taken an extreme liking to writing and publishing stories and articles of my fitness and health knowledge. I just want to educate people as much as I possibly can. I love helping others.
EDGE: If you weren’t a model, what would you be doing?
Philip Fusco: I’d probably be working at the marketing department of a company, especially because I have a marketing degree.
EDGE: Do you have time for a social life?
Philip Fusco: Of course! I always make time for that But without neglecting my work and the things I need to do.
EDGE: You also have a YouTube channel on fitness. How did that come about?
Philip Fusco: I was inspired through working with Davey Wavey. He is an awesome guy and I had a blast working with him. I guess I wanted to do a little bit of what he did on top of the modeling :)
EDGE: How would you define your branding?
Philip Fusco: Positive, happy and uplifting. Those would be the words I’ll use to define my brand’s traits.
EDGE: Do you enjoy public appearances like this one coming up?
Philip Fusco: Absolutely! I love meeting my fans in person. They’re the best and inspire me to keep doing what I’m doing.
EDGE: You are obviously comfortable with your body - what do you say to someone with body issues?
Philip Fusco: Don’t think about what people are saying about you. YOU are beautiful no matter what anybody says or thinks about YOU!
EDGE: Have you been approached by the adult male industry?
Philip Fusco: Oh yes!
EDGE: If so, what do you tell them?
Philip Fusco: My standard response: Thank you for the offer, but I’ll pass.
