Winter may be (still) in full swing, and though the groundhog got a glimpse of his shadow and it could mean 6 more weeks (help us all in the northeast) New York City’s preparing to give night-crawlers a clear reason to shake those blizzard blues. Once again continuing to rise into a new evolution, THE OUT NYC, located in the heart of Manhattan’s Theatre District, is taking the former XL Nightclub and rebooting it into Hell’s Kitchen’s newest haunt, 42West.

Taking nightlife in a new and vibrant direction are club life impresarios Susan Buckley and partner Stuart Black. Between the two of them, the creative team has a quarter century enhancing the nightlife experience. Their latest venture to inaugurate THE OUT NYC’s dance floor space will set hearts aflutter when "BPM" (Beats Per Minute) launches on Valentine’s Day Weekend.

Accustomed to making a big splash, Buckley and Black are not holding back! When "BPM" opens this weekend it will feature the international talents of DJ Danny Verde spinning hearts on Friday, Feb. 14. Saturday, Feb. 15’s headliner will be none other than the Grammy Award winning DJ/Music Producer David Morales who will be turning the turntables for "Keep On Dancin’," a fundraiser to benefit GMHC, AREA & Lifebeat.

With very high expectations for the revamp space, EDGE caught up with Susan Buckley who shared some of the latest innovations that club life will experience engaging in "BPM" at the new 42WEST. "At its heart, ’BPM’ was created to be a home away from home for the world’s top DJ’s," Buckley expressed. "We have the best dance floor and sound system in NYC, and now will have the best talent to match."

The press release headline read: "BPM to open in Hell’s Kitchen on Valentine’s Day!" President’s Day Weekend has historically never been one of the scene’s biggest nights, but Buckley and Black are confidently taking that risk and guaranteeing to shake things up with the premiere of "BPM" "Since it’s Presidents Day Weekend as well as Valentine’s Day on Friday," said Buckley, "we saw it as a great time to re-open with our new weekly Friday party’ CLICK’. Then we follow it up on Saturday with a GMHC, AREA and Lifebeat benefit."

Scoring the top tier talent currently making the circuit rounds is a priority for Buckley, who understands the importance the DJ has in setting the tone for a successful venue. "We have been very precise with the talent we have reached out to," Buckley said. "The DJs we are bringing in will create an on-point dance experience night after night. They are masters at what they do and a major part of the rebrand." Among some the headliners "BPM" will be hosting, expect DJs Steven Redant, Wayne G, Chad Jack, Mike Cruz, Serving Ovahness, and others to be added to the roster.

"BPM" won’t stop there to keep the syncopated rhythms rolling. Several events are already being prepared to procure audiences attending The Saint At Large’s Black Party (THE OUT NYC is the official host hotel for the legendary party). Grammy nominated DJ Tony Moran will also be making "BPM" one of his resident destinations along his international club crawl, and pop-dance-diva extraordinaire Ultra Naté will also host a monthly soiree "Deep Sugar NYC". All the while, the DJ talent of tomorrow will be introduced in the lounge and on opening sets. Says Buckley, "These talents will become our next headliners."

Since its inception, THE OUT NYC and its dance space have proven an indispensable property with its share of challenges, to which Buckley is rising to the occasion. "The winning ingredient is the space itself. This is a dance club, sound and set up. The design of the room itself is perfect for a dance party." Susan is confident that 42West at THE OUT NYC is ready to rally in a renaissance of club life. "Music is a motivator and a relaxant. People everywhere have a common love - and that is music. The energy and feel of a fun, successful party has a positive effect on all who are present and should be experienced by all."

With Cupid’s arrow ready to fly, "BPM" is giving fans a new reason to fall in love with the weekend at 42West. The timing seems right for a reboot, and the speakers are prepped to pump up the jam. Get your heart on this Friday and Saturday at THE OUT NYC’s latest weekend going-on!

"BPM" at THE OUT NYC is located at 516 West 42nd Street. The party begins Friday, Feb. 14.
