Chicago bears, cubs, daddies and their admirers-beware! On Saturday, May 24, Mr. Leather (IML) and Bear Pride Weekend, beloved NYC bear party promoter JOE FIORE, will unleash his wild ’n’ woofy dance party FURBALL upon The Windy City.

If your idea of heaven is bumping the night away with hot ’n’ hairy crowd, world-class DJs (Frankie Knuckles was a regular), cheap beer and burly go-go bears, best get yer butt on down to Metro for FURBALL on May 24. Come party as we celebrate not only the 10th anniversary of FURBALL, but also the whopping 20th anniversary of Bear Pride Weekend!

And dont let the name fool ya, you don’t have to be a "bear" to feel right at home at FURBALL: From leather tops to furry bottoms, slick-and-slender to large-and-in charge, gorillas to otters, all are welcome!

FURBALL is one of  many successful bear events created by Fiore (seen here with former FURBALL DJ Frankie Knuckles, who played 3 parties, hello!). In addition to FURBALL, created as a fundraiser for the NYC LGBT Center (for which he helped raise over $500,000), Fiore’s produced and promoted a number of other NYC bear parties either on his own or in collaboration with others, including Drenched (a pool party at a trendy hotel), Rockbear, Cubhouse, Mustache Garage, Underbear, and Lube."

"The May 24 FURBALL party will be my first in Chicago. My buddies from BLOWOFF (Bob Mould and Rich Morel, have raved about how fun Chicago men are, so we’re really looking forward to it!"

It’s not only the debut of FURBALL, but also that of San Francisco-based Australian DJ Paul Goodyear, who will be jetting to drop his signature sweatbomb "SanFranDisko" mix of tribal, disco, funk and classic house.

"I can’t wait to play Chicago for the first time in a 30 year DJ career!" says Goodyear.

Originally from Sydney, Goodyear is an in-demand international DJ whose gigs have included Atlantis cruises, Folsom Street’s Magnitude Party, and both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2002 Gay Games in Sydney. As a remixer, writer and producer, Goodyear’s racked up over 400 releases to date and will be unveiling several special mixes for the first time at FURBALL, including his Fire Island Mix of "Life, Love and Happiness" by Brian Kennedy.

Chicago’s own DJ Ron Geronimo will open the party with a bouncin’ disco-house set. Geronimo is familiar to many as a resident DJ at Charlie’s Chicago, Phoenix Nightclub & Roscoes and recent gigs spinning the "Sweat" party at Metro, and The Black & Blue Ball at Excalibur Nightclub.

For those yet unfamiliar with Geronimo’s pumpin’ DJ sets, he says his "house and dance musical influences are a reflection of Ralphi Rosario, Frankie Knuckles, Roger Sanchez, Antoine Clamaran, Chus Esteban and Pablo Ceballos."

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door
