"I Love a Parade" could be the unofficial theme song of New Orleans. Famous for its Mardi Gras parades, the gay-friendly Big Easy has also been hosting a for more than a decade. The 12th annual Gay Easter Parade was held on Sunday, April 24, 2011. Horsedrawn carriages, convertibles and trolleys filled with riders throwing beads and Easter trinkets through the gay district of the city’s historic French Quarter drew thousands of spectators. The parade is the finale of five weeks of special events designed to raise money to support Food For Friends, a vital program of the . This year’s efforts helped raise more than $25,000. Among the supporters was , which was a title sponsor of the parade and hosted a VIP reception and fundraiser on Good Friday at Harrah’s Casino Masquerade nightclub. EDGE was there to capture the spirit and fun of the festivities.
