The Go-Go’s, and Ongina join Academy of Friends in fundraising shindigs over the upcoming week, and Sherry vine brings her smelly pants parody to a new Sunday T-dance. The stars are out to catch more fame. You can too.

Behind The Red Curtain

With the third edition of their drag fundraisers at Club Trigger, Restore Equality 2010 To Repeal Prop 8’s brings another round of entertainment that promises to beyond belief. The award-winning same sex dance duo, Jose Comoda and Chris Phan (Cheryl Burke Dance), return for what will most likely be a showstopper, and joins drag performers Sandra O. Noshi-Di’n’t, Tara Wrist, Mama Dora, Max Amillion, Persia, MuthaChucka, Suppositori Spelling (Cocktailgate), Supervisor candidate Anna Conda (Charlie Horse), and a special performance by Heklina (Trannyshack). But it gives me great pleasure to be hosting the go-go cage striptease by legendary porn star Michael Brandon. Restore Equality 2010 has not disappointed its audiences in the previous two fundraisers, and the audiences have not disappointed in their previous donations. Again raffle prizes will be abound, and drink specials all around including a 2-for-1 until 8pm. So, I guess I told you what’s behind the red curtain, just make sure you are in front of it.

Walk The Red Carpet

Over the past 30 years, the Academy of Friends have raised over $7.5 million for more than 70 non-profit HIV/AIDS service organizations in San Francisco, and they will add to that total with their annual Oscars event on Sunday, March 7 at Fort Mason with Behind The Seams: A Salute To Fashion In Film. With a theme like that Joan Rivers probably wishes that she were covering the Oscars’ red carpet here instead of Hollywood. I know my original designed dress by Marco will be fierce.

This event is surely the closes thing you will find to actually being at the Academy Awards. Great entertainment to enjoy during pre-telecast of the awards show that will be on the huge screens throughout the venue. Eat, eat, and drink, drink from mounds of catered food and Smirnoff vodka bottles. If your pocketbook can handle the ticket price (well worth it, I might add), this will be the glamour event to be thus far this year.

Do Or Die For Muttville

Jimmy Strano’s Gong Show inspired talent contest, Do Or Die, has become all the rage this year as it comes to the end of Season 1 competition with a finale on Monday, March 8 at the MIX in the Castro. Hosted by Joan Crawford-Texas, semi-final winners will compete for the overall title in the categories of drag/lipsync, comedy/magic, and live singing. The winner walks away with over $500 in cash and prizes. Joining me with judging duties are local comic extraordinaire Candy Churilla, the dynamic duo from the 80’s girl group, the Go-Go’s, Gina Schock and Jane Wiedlin. Raising money for the Sherry Franklin’s Muttville senior dog rescue organization, you will have an opportunity to contribute through the purchase of raffle tickets, auction items including a lunch date with Gina and Jane, and jell-o shots by 3 Olives Vodka. Photos by Rich Stadtmiller with and autographs of the Go-Go’s duo will also be a source of fundraising for Muttville. Entertainment, prizes, vodka shots, super stars, and a good cause.....isn’t life grand!

Do Or Die Finale, Monday, March 8, Mix 4086 - 18th Street @ Castro, 6p-10p, www.sfmixbar.com

Sherry Vine Brings Her Sh#tty Pants

There is a crop of new Sunday T-dance inaugurals this weekend, but the one that tops my list is Club 8’s latest club night edition, HAUS. And to launch the new T-dance they pulled out the stops by bringing in drag sensation Sherry Vine to perform her hot parody of Lady GaGa’s "Bad Romance" entitled "I Sh#t My Pants" live. With more than 3 million views on YouTube, the parody video is all the rage worldwide. Hosted by Lady TaTas, HAUS will rock with the music from renown San Francisco djs Kidd Sysco and DJ Pornstar. As with most Club 8 events, the first hour is a 2-For-1 drink fest to get things started. Only the first Sundays of every month, HAUS is sure to be on your calendar now and going forward. Delish!

HAUS, Sunday, March 7, Club Eight 1151 Folsom, 6p-Midnight, $5-$10, www.eightsf.com

Back To The 80s

I just found a reason to go out on Mondays now that Club Trigger has added an 80’s themed night with Testarossa to its club night roster. Launched last week to a capacity crowd, Testarossa goes all out with a conversion that consists of a Pac Man game table, various old TV screens playing 80’s movies, tv shows and commercials, 80’s marquee posters decorate the walls, and celebrity imposters of the period roam the club. Resident VJ Mark Andrus plays the hottest in 80’s music videos accented by a couple of imposter performances. Drink specials are amazing with $1 Svedka Vodka drinks, and 50 cent well drinks all night if you are in costume. I know I need a lot to kick off my week on Mondays, and Testarossa will most definitely kick my ass in gear. Y’all better watch out for me the rest of the week. My Testarossa is on the road. Will you join me?
