Two transgender artists/activists were arrested and detained after one of them allegedly flashed her breasts on a plane, according to Canada’s LGBT website Xtra.

Lexi Sanfino and Nina Arsenault, who Xtra calls "two prominent Toronto trans activists," were on a WestJet flight from Edmonton, Canada, on June 20 for a friend’s wedding, according to friend Judy Virago. Virago added that Sanfino allegedly bared her breasts while Arsenault filmed her for an art project on the relationship between trans bodies and public spaces.

"They were trying to create a piece on the demystification of trans women’s bodies in a public space," Virago told Xtra.

The Toronto Star, however, reports a different story. The Canadian newspaper writes, "the incident was provoked by questions from the flight attendant, which they deemed inappropriate."

"She came over and said, ’You guys have to teach us how to do our makeup,’" Arsenault, 39, told the Star. "And then they were like, ’You know, because you used to be guys, right?’"

Sanfino then allegedly took her top off and "walked down the aisle with quite a bit of grace and flamboyance and had her arms out," Arsenault continued. "And then the flight attendants came and covered her up, saying ’Think about the children!’"

When the plane landed in Alberta, Canada, Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested Sanfino and Arsenault said she was also placed under arrest after refusing to stop filing the incident. Sanfino was charged with causing a disturbance but Arsenault was released without charge.

According to Wikipedia, Arsenault was thrown into the media spotlight after she claimed she once dated alleged murder and cannibal Luka Rocca Magnotta, the former porn actor who is accused of killing Lin Jun, a Chinese international student, and mailing his limbs to Canadian lawmakers and elementary school in 2012.

Oh isn’t this going to be a great test of the law. I’ve seen these 2 in Toronto a few times and while rather convincing as woman, it’s still obvious that they were not born female. The real test here is how they are legally recognized under the law (does their official ID say male or female). If the ID still says male, then the RCMP’s case gets tossed. If ID says female, then this will be a real test of law. .. AGAIN. This was already tested in Ontario and in that case the courts ruked that bare breasts are not obscene. Now, in Ontario, women now have the legal right to bare their breasts. You’ll see that this weekend at Toronto’s Pride parade on Sun... and alk around town for that matter.
