Early Edition - Season Two
What would you do if you got tomorrow’s paper today? This question is asked and answered in Early Edition and continued in this Season Two DVD release.
The series doesn’t exactly move forward in leaps and bounds but does make some small changes. Gary Hobson still get the morning paper a day in advance and tries to change the gut-wrenching headlines through his own accord. His best friend Chuck and blind friend Marissa help out in figuring out the vague clues that lead him to change the horrible headlines.
We don’t learn any more about the mysterious origin of the papers or the cat that seems to bring them every morning. The crew does manage the change their local bar into a fancy restaurant after a twist of fate that makes them the owners. It provides a nice change of scenery and gives a different context for the trio, especially since Chuck working in an investment bank got a little annoying.
Though each episode itself is slightly far fetched in terms of what Gary needs to do in order to save lives and prevent tragedies, it’s clear that this was a very successful family show that teaches lessons and makes you feel good despite its slight unbelievability. This tremendous DVD release with all the second season episodes only contains episodic promos as its only special feature.
