High Hopes
High Hopes tells the story of Hollywood hopeful Tom and his posse who are pinning their dreams of industry success on Tom’s famous girlfriend starring in their first feature film...that is until she dumps him.
Now the plan is to steal a case of government-issued marijuana, return it to the FBI and use the reward money to finance their movie.
An all-star cast of mainly b-list actors, including David Faustino (TV’s "Married with Children), Jason Mardsen (TV’s "Boy Meets World), Andy Dick, and a few others, could do nothing more than make "High Hopes" a cheesy flop.
The first of only two positives from the film is that it lets the world know that Michael Delorenzo (TV’s "New York Undercover") is still alive and well, even if he is acting in crappy films, while the second is Jason Mewes ("Zack and Miri Make a Porno," "Clerks") who does his usual bit and does it well.
Of course, in this role as a stoner, Mewes’ character is limited to an incomplete caricature of parts already performed in his previous films which were supported by better writing.
Special features include director’s Commentary; trailer; widescreen presentation, and English 2.0 stereo audio.
"High Hopes" is an unintelligent, not-funny film, that will steal ninety-four minutes of your life.
