Provincetown Film Society and EDGE Media Network Launch Provincetown International Film Festival iOS App
The Provincetown Film Society and EDGE Media Network today announced the launch of the Provincetown International Film Festival iOS app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Available as a free download from Apple’s App Store, the new app provides information and news to support this year’s film festival, which begins today and runs through Sunday, June 17th.
The app offers a comprehensive list of film screenings for the entire festival that integrate with Apple technology on mobile devices, permitting attendees to easily learn about films, retrieve directions to screening locations, and add film times to their mobile calendars. The app also includes a list of festival-related events, news, reviews of films, information on festival sponsors, and photo albums from official events during the week.
"We’re so excited to be launching this app," said Lou Marino, EDGE’s Vice President of Marketing. "We believe it’s going to be an indispensible up-to-the-minute guide to the festival, and it also includes elements of fun such as photos from parties."
The festival features 50+ films programmed into five days of film-related events, including an opening night East Coast premiere of "BACHELORETTE," directed by Leslye Headland and starring Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher, and Lizzy Caplan, and notable honors bestowed upon producer/director Roger Corman, actor Parker Posey and director Kirby Dick.
"We are very excited to have our first App," noted Gavbrielle Hanna, Executive Director of The Provincetown Film Society. "Edge has been a wonderful sponsor over the years and creating this App will help us reach a broader audience and keep our patrons up-to-date on all Festival happenings."
The app is currently available for free in Apple’s iOS App Store by searching on "Provincetown International Film Festival." Direct links are also available by visiting EDGE’s iOS mobile site at http://www.edgeiphone.com or the festival’s site at http://www.ptownfilmfest.org.
